The Nalder Room
This lovely corner room was named after George Nalder the English Solicitor who built Wilderness House in Akaroa in 1878. As he was a keen botanist and ornithologist, this room has been given a botanical flavour with lots of stunning botanical fabrics and artwork. You can lie in bed and admire our giant bunya bunya tree, magnolia grandiflora and cornus flowering right outside the window and planted by George 130years ago! This room gets all year round morning and afternoon sun. It has a queen bed with recycled rimu bed ends and has an ensuite bathroom with walk in shower.
